With dozens of tea types and hundreds of tea companies, how do you find reliable information on tea on the vast expanses of the internet? Forums like the tea Subreddit are a fantastic place to ask one-off questions, but for substantial, well-researched topics tea blogs and other publications will give more comprehensive advice.

Tea blogs are the place to go to discover other tea drinkers’ reviews, uncover lesser known tea facts, and read stories about tea from every corner of the world. This personally curated list of tea blogs, magazines, and news sites give a well-rounded collection of up-to-date resources where you can learn about tea and find your next favorite tea!

6. Eighty Degrees

Type: Print Magazine

Website: readeighty.com

All right, Eighty Degrees is a bit of a cheat to include in this list of tea blogs, since it’s actually a quarterly printed magazine not available online. However, the stories, photo essays, and sheer look and feel of the magazine merit its place among digital tea publications.

I discovered Eighty Degrees through an email newsletter from the Global Japanese Tea Association that I’m subscribed to. I’ve now received two editions of Eighty Degrees and am absolutely in love with the thorough thought and design that goes into crafting it. Although it’s a magazine, it feels more like a freshly printed coffee table book with hidden gems waiting to be discovered over a cup of warm tea in the morning.

The Global Japanese Tea Association is a fairly new tea nonprofit started in 2019 that aims to connect Japanese tea with the world. Their blog shares a wealth of knowledge around Japanese tea and also regularly features insight on Japanese tea farmers, programs, initiatives, and events. Because the content is all original and the association’s aim is to educate and connect, you’ll find a truly unique perspective and first-hand information on the GJTA’s blog not available elsewhere.
